Fly Over Iceland is an indoor motion-theatre attraction at Fiskislod 43 in Reykjavik's Grandi harbor district. Guests sit in moving seats before a large curved screen, with wind, mist and scents creating a flight simulation. It is a filmed attraction in the city, not a sightseeing flight in an aircraft.

What to book and how much time to allow

DecisionWhat the official pages establish
Iceland featureSignature year-round experience using footage of Iceland
Double featureTwo films when offered; confirm the current second film
PremiumDrink, priority boarding and souvenir-photo benefits as listed at checkout
Group visitDedicated support and rates for ten or more guests
Single-feature time allowanceOperator suggests 40-60 minutes overall
Double-feature time allowanceOperator suggests approximately 90 minutes

The ride itself is only part of the visit. The FAQ describes pre-shows, a safety briefing and approximately eight to ten minutes in the motion theatre. Its total-experience estimates vary from 25-30 to 25-35 minutes. The hours page uses about 35 minutes including an 8.5-minute ride. Allow the broader 40-60-minute visit window rather than using the ride length as your complete stop.

Films and promotions can change. The homepage advertised an Iceland/Believe Chicago double feature when checked; do not assume that pairing will remain available for your travel date. A Premium ticket and a double-feature ticket solve different problems: one adds benefits around a visit, while the other adds another film.

Current published prices and payment

The hours page lists general admission aged fourteen and over at ISK 5,690 online or ISK 6,250 on site. Children thirteen and under are listed at ISK 3,690 online or ISK 4,250 on site. Online booking therefore saves ISK 560 per listed ticket at these rates; that is our arithmetic. Check the film, date and package before using this as a final budget.

The attraction currently publishes daily opening of 09:00-18:30. Showtimes typically run every fifteen to thirty minutes according to the FAQ; the hours page uses fifteen to twenty. Those are approximate frequencies, not a promise that you can join immediately after walking in. Pre-book your desired slot, particularly if fitting the attraction around a tour or ship departure.

Fly Over is cashless. Bring an accepted debit or credit card for on-site purchases. A discounted online ticket does not mean every add-on, drink or photograph is included.

Height rule: an official-page conflict to resolve

The current FAQ repeatedly specifies a minimum rider height of 102 cm, while the homepage and hours page still say 100 cm and label that 40 inches. These measurements are not equivalent. We use the more restrictive 102 cm for planning and recommend checking directly before purchasing for any child close to the threshold. Do not promise admission based solely on the lower figure.

Children thirteen and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian aged fourteen or over according to the hours page. A child's age category does not override the height rule. If your family includes someone who cannot ride, ask about waiting arrangements before assuming a young child can accompany the group through every stage.

Access, seating and sensory considerations

The FAQ distinguishes moving-seat participation from stationary viewing. A wheelchair user needs to transfer independently or with a companion's help to use the motion seat. Someone unable to transfer can view from a stationary position on the platform with a staff member. There is a limit on the number of wheelchairs per session, so arrange this in advance.

A companion accompanying a paying wheelchair user has no admission fee but still needs a ticket. Call +354 527 6700 to reserve that arrangement. This is a concrete booking procedure, not an assumption that every accompanying person receives free entry.

The experience involves around twenty to thirty minutes of standing and some stairs. The venue says elevators and seating accommodations are available; tell staff what you need. Seats are described as approximately 53 cm wide with belts up to 157 cm. The FAQ states no weight limit, but contact the team about individual seat-fit concerns.

This is a moving, visually immersive ride. The operator advises pregnant guests not to participate and lists conditions that may make the ride unsuitable, including certain back, neck, heart and photosensitive conditions. Strong motion sensitivity or fear of heights also deserves consideration. Use the operator's current restrictions and seek individual advice where needed; an indoor location does not eliminate motion or sensory effects.

Arriving in Grandi

The address is Fiskislod 43, 101 Reykjavik. Complimentary on-site parking is published. The directions page describes a walking route through the Old Harbour and along Grandagardur, then Grunnslod to Fiskislod. Walking duration depends on your starting point; the FAQ's approximate fifteen-minute downtown walk should not be treated as a route from every hotel.

The directions page identifies bus 14 serving Grandi; the FAQ also mentions bus 3. Check the current Straeto route planner for the day rather than relying on a route number without its stop and timetable. Hop-on/hop-off services stop across the street at Whales of Iceland, but those sightseeing services have their own tickets and operating schedules.

For cruise visitors, verify the berth and transport independently. An estimated drive from a cruise terminal does not include waiting for a vehicle, traffic or reboarding margin. Nearby attractions can make Grandi useful for a longer stop, but they each require their own admission.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real flight over Iceland?

No. It is a motion-seat film attraction with a curved screen and sensory effects inside a Reykjavik building.

Can wheelchair users participate without transferring?

The FAQ offers stationary viewing on the platform if transfer is not possible. Contact the venue to reserve the necessary session capacity and companion ticket.

Can I change a ticket bought elsewhere?

The FAQ directs third-party bookings back to the seller. Fly Over cannot directly amend, cancel or refund those bookings.

How do direct booking changes work?

The confirmation provides a modification link usable up to 24 hours before the slot. Later requests go to the team; date/time changes depend on availability and must be requested at least two hours before the experience.

Booking choices and arrival: rechecked 2 November 2026

The dedicated Premium page lists a single experience at ISK 7,990 adult / ISK 5,990 child, and a Premium double feature at ISK 9,990 adult / ISK 7,990 child. The listed extras are a drink (excluding energy drinks), priority boarding, a digital souvenir photo and 15% off the gift shop. Compare that bundle with the plain admission above; a souvenir photo is a guest purchase, not permission for this directory to reuse it. Premium package.

For repeat visitors, the Annual Pass is a different product: ISK 14,990 for age 14+ or ISK 9,990 for age 13 and younger, purchased at the attraction. Its terms give 365 days from purchase, require photo ID, make it non-refundable and non-transferable, and exclude double features and special packages. A visitor wanting two films on one holiday should not assume the pass substitutes for a double-feature ticket. Annual pass and its conditions.

The FAQ asks guests to arrive at least 15 minutes early and recommends a 20-30-minute margin. It states that ordinary tickets can be refunded up to 24 hours before the scheduled time; third-party bookings must be handled by their seller. Late/no-show admission is discretionary and is not refundable. The 102 cm FAQ versus 100 cm price-page conflict remained present in this fresh review. Arrival and direct-booking policy.
